Tim has expansive knowledge of business and tax consulting solutions for clients globally. He provides clients with a full range of accounting and auditing services, and is particularly attuned to the needs of growth-driven business owners in manufacturing, distribution, and service-related industries.
Tim heads the charge for Clayton & McKervey's clients doing business in Mexico, and is currently working with clients doing business in Puebla and Queretaro.
Tim believes one of the things Clayton & McKervey does so well is seek to understand what great entrepreneurs do, and apply the knowledge gained from their experiences and our involvement to other client opportunities. "I can see the potential of some clients, and provide insight and techniques that I've learned so they can achieve greater success."
Tim focuses on tax strategies for his clients, including but not limited to, research & experimentation tax credits, cost segregation studies, and personal property tax saving opportunities. He is also involved in the accounting and auditing side of Clayton & McKervey and is well versed in an array of financial tools, such as financial management.
Tim actively spends time with clients on their growth plans by helping them utilize these various financial management techniques. In one instance, he worked with senior management to improve their budgeting process and was able to help secure additional outside funds for the company's continual growth.
Before joining the firm, Tim worked in private industry and public accounting, including six years at a Big 4 firm.
Being involved in business organizations allows him to associate with a broader group of business executives and entrepreneurs. Tim is active in the National Tooling and Machining Association. He chairs the Member Orientation committee of Automation Alley, which started as an association of technology firms in Oakland County, but grew into a statewide business organization that embraces globalization.
Expanding into a global market takes courage, commitment, and knowledge about the culture, in addition to good business skills. Tim and others at Clayton & McKervey are able to provide insight into all of these aspects of international trade for privately-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
A graduate of Michigan State University, Tim is married with three young children. In his free time, he plays golf and hockey and enjoys water and snow skiing. If it bears the name "sports," he's into it.
