Tim excels at helping growth-driven, privately-owned businesses expand and build their most valuable asset, the business, while minimizing taxes. His expertise is in the niche manufacturing and high-tech industry, yet his realm of experience covers all business types from emerging through growth to mature businesses.
Tim's focus is Asia as our growth-driven clients pursue opportunities globally. He blends his strong leadership style with a personable approach. While he has a commanding presence, he enjoys interacting with people at all levels of business. He speaks the same language as business owners and explains accounting and tax issues in understandable terms.
With a Bachelor's of Accounting degree and a Master's of Taxation degree, both from Walsh College, Tim has a depth of knowledge that complements his caring, insightful manner. Caring about clients and their businesses is a core value at Clayton & McKervey.
Tim is a seasoned tax adviser. He savors the times when he can carve out significant tax savings by advising clients on the structure and timing of key transactions, maximizing tax credits, such as Research & Experimentation activities, deferring taxes, and aligning multi-state and global tax strategies.
A member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Tim also serves on its Finance Committee and is the Chairman of the Nominations Committee.
Tim is the leader of our CFO/Controller Roundtable meetings, which provide a forum for our clients' top financial people to share best practices. He thrives on being able to share best practices from Clayton & McKervey's experience and the knowledge gained through roundtable discussions and community involvement.
In Tim's free time, he and his family enjoy golfing, traveling, and relaxing at their place up North (true Michiganders!).
