As an ACCOUNTING & AUDITING MANAGER at Clayton & McKervey, you will work with our clients who are growth-driven, middle-market entrepreneurs with a global reach. You will supervise a number of engagements simultaneously, ensuring optimum client satisfaction while leading one or more staff instructing them in worked to be performed, reviewing the completed work, and directing necessary revisions. Essential Job Functions

  • Perform a broad range of diversified accounting assignments - audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Participate in planning and scheduling of client engagements
  • Oversees and instructs assigned Staff Accountants and Interns
  • Efficiently prepare and review work papers
  • Prepare complicated financial statements with appropriate notes
  • Prepare client tax returns for individual, corporate, partnership, and others
  • Assist in research of complex technical issues as necessary
  • Demonstrate ability to monitor project status meeting budgets, deadlines and quality control standards; ability to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Process knowledge of applicable pronouncements and perform related engagements in accordance with GAAS, GAGAS, SSARS, etc
  • Maintains independence with attestation clients in fact, and in appearance, in accordance with AICPA and GAGAS standards
  • Develops and maintains client relationships by meeting clients on a regular basis; developing business familiarity; assuming responsibility for client workload; anticipate or recognizes problems/issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner
  • Actively promotes and facilitates teamwork throughout the firm and actively pursues opportunities for firm growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in public accounting, with demonstrated knowledge of audit accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong ability to plan and organize work for self and others, and strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Must be a strategic thinker and possess the ability to market the firm's services
  • Knowledge of ProSystems fx and CCH Engagement a plus
