Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in planning and scheduling of client engagements
  • Oversees and instructs assigned Staff Accountants, and Intern positions as necessary
  • Prepares and reviews work papers; performs procedures established under generally accepted auditing, review, or compilation standards to ensure accuracy and validity
  • Prepares complicated financial statements with appropriate notes
  • Prepares client tax returns for individual, corporate, partnership, and others
  • Prepares routine correspondence; processes reports; develops/maintains spreadsheets; assists in research of complex technical issues as necessary
  • Demonstrates advanced working knowledge and understanding of audit, review, and compilation compliance and relevant matters
  • Demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of the tax process
  • Demonstrates ability to monitor project status to meet budgets, deadlines and quality control standards; appropriately prioritizes multiple assignments
  • Process knowledge of applicable pronouncements and perform related engagements in accordance with GAAS, GAGAS, SSARS, etc
  • Maintains independence with attestation clients in fact, and in appearance, in accordance with AICPA and GAGAS standards
  • Develops an understanding of clients’ business, and of the unique aspects of each client’s industry. Meets w/clients on a regular basis
  • Develops meaningful management letter comments for clients for improving controls, procedures, and business profitability
  • Assumes responsibility for client workload; anticipates or recognizes problems/issues and recommends solutions in a timely manner; keeps manager and/or partner informed
  • Actively promotes and facilitates teamwork throughout the firm
  • Develops / maintains referral network; actively pursues opportunities for firm growth, identifying additional client needs
  • Perform a variety of assigned firm management / administrative responsibilities, including performance feedback as requested
  • Maintain and expand professional skills via CPE and other sources

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two to three years of progressively responsible experience in public accounting, with demonstrated advanced knowledge of audit accounting
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA
  • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office package, and the ability to quickly become proficient in the firm’s other information technology tools
  • Qualified candidates will also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the strong ability to plan and organize work for self and others, and strong interpersonal skills
  • German language skills a plus
