Thielenhaus Microfinish Corporation designs and builds microfinishing machines for industrial use, primarily in the automotive and the health care industries.
The parent company is in Germany with two U.S. subsidiaries in Michigan and New Jersey. The U.S. subsidiary is establishing a joint venture in Shanghai, China, led by Peter Thielenhaus, co-owner of the Michigan office. Thielenhaus says he "values the business advice and support he gets from Kevin McKervey."
Clayton & McKervey greatly eased the complicated start-up process for this new international joint venture. They arranged for a translator to interpret the negotiations and transactions. We tapped into the PKF Network to land a lawyer in Beijing to assist with the deal. He also made introductions to area bankers and accountants and had an income tax statement completed in China. Business documents, including a Letter of Incorporation, were filed with various government entities through Clayton & McKervey.
"When starting the international business, we didn't have time to research everything from scratch. We didn't want to reinvent the wheel," said Joan Coblentz, director of Finance and Administration. "Clayton & McKervey provides a turnkey solution. They know what it takes to start a business in China. They provide a tremendous resource by telling us what's needed and often doing it for us."
