Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, & Job Creation Act

On December 17, 2010, President Obama signed the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 into law. This law extends the Bush-era individual and capital gain/dividend tax cuts for all taxpayers for two years. In addition, this law provides for a one-year payroll tax cut, extends bonus depreciation and other expiring provisions, provides an "AMT" patch, and adds some certainty to the estate tax for the next two years.
